United Music Culture Community (UMCC) has elevated Society City into one of Wollongong’s most exciting independent music spaces. Every event is backed by expert production, high-quality filming, and professional photography, ensuring artists not only sound their best but also leave with valuable content to grow their careers.
This transformation has been driven by the dedication of Mark Lenzo, whose commitment to the Wollongong music scene spans years of advocacy, mentorship, and tireless support for emerging and established artists. With the help of Tyrone McCrystal (Wollongong Music Archive), Julian Frazer (Fat Baby Studios), and venue owner Josh Shim, along with an amazing and dedicated volunteer team, Society City has become more than just a venue — it’s a creative hub where live music, community, and culture thrive.
Together with Unicorn Kills Collective, the venue offers unprecedented pathways for original artists, creating opportunities to record, perform, and develop their craft in a truly supportive environment.
