Next Chapter :

In this interview, Orlando reflects on his journey into music, creative process, and experiences as a developing artist. Although he began guitar lessons reluctantly at a young age, he eventually formed a strong connection to music through songwriting, collaboration, and performing. Over time, his approach to writing has shifted from imitating chord progressions to a more intuitive process shaped by learning songs, jamming, and drawing inspiration from others.

His musical influences range from classic acts like The Beatles to contemporary psych-folk artists, which continue to shape his sound. One of his most memorable live experiences was performing at a small community festival, where audience engagement and shared energy made the performance especially meaningful.

Orlando describes his goals as simple: play his songs authentically and connect with listeners. He enjoys both intimate venues and larger stages and hopes to perform more widely as he develops his live band. He also shares the story behind his song “I Just Need Some Air,” written after finishing high school during a period of uncertainty and transition, using music as a way to process change and find direction.

Reflecting on the current music landscape, he notes the growing financial pressure on venues and artists, as well as the increasing demand to market and sell tickets online. He contrasts the creative freedom of solo work with the collaborative energy of being in a band, valuing both experiences.

Orlando expresses gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the Next Chapter series and acknowledges the support he has received from his local music community since his earliest performances, highlighting the importance of encouragement and shared spaces for emerging artists.
